These sites all have extensive data banks and lots of good articles about careers. You don’t have to subscribe to AOL or Yahoo to take advantage of what they have to offer. AOL is now connected to monster.com, one of the major job-hunting sites.

http://www.craigslist.org began in the San Francisco Bay area. It has now gone nation-wide with job listings in many categories, including creative and high-tech jobs that are not listed elsewhere. 

http://www.fastcompany.com is filled with trendy and informative articles, many from its top-rated print magazine. To get a taste for it, search the site under any of the following key words: "innovation," "branding" and "spirituality." Under "Company of Friends," you’ll see how to connect with kindred spirits both locally and in cities you might visit on business. 

Sites that Support Meaningful Work
http://www.beliefnet.com is the place to go for information about different religions as well as eclectic or nondenominational faiths. It is filled with brief inspirational and practical articles by outstanding authors. Some are specifically about work; the rest offer soul food while you work or hunt for a job.

http://www.betterworkplacenow.com contains articles and excerpts from "The 22 Keys to a Meaningful Workplace," by Tom Terez. Many selections are both witty and wise, such as his spoof of business books. Another feature is a section where readers can most their own insights and resources. 

http://www.gethirednow.com is the official website of career consultants CJ Hayden and Frank Traditi

http://www.spiritatwork.org is Grand Central Station for the spirituality and work movement, with connections to conferences, consultants, websites and graduate level courses. Get on this site’s email list, and you’ll learn about events authors in search of stories, and the latest great story in newspapers or trade journals. 

http://www.spiritualityhealth.com features online articles from Spirituality and Health Magazine, including some from famous authors such as Thomas Moore and Gail Godwin. There are also exercises and Spiritual Check-ups, e.g., "Do the values you embrace fit the company you work for?" 

http://www.workforce.com is the online version of the major human resources journal. It never hurts to know what HR managers are thinking before you go into your interview! Search under "spirituality" for articles like "Religion and Spirituality in the Workplace – Do You Know Your Rights?" and "The Ethical Company." 

Entrepreneurial Support Sites
http://www.guru.com may not have as many job leads as it once did, but it has excellent articles on free-lancing or consulting. The articles on marketing (search under "Middleton" for some of the best) are useful to job-hunters as well as entrepreneurs. 

http://www.heartofbusiness.com is the site of Mark Silver with information on handling money and creating a heart centered website among other good things.  

http://www.jilllublin.com is a spirit based PR person. 

http://www.perfectclient.com offers daily strategic tips on how to attract the work that is best suited to you. It is also a great place to request information or connections about issues that matter most to you. 

http://www.prsecrets.com is Susan Harrow’s site. She’s the author of Sell yourself Without Selling Your Soul.

http://www.sba.gov is the official site of the Small Business Administration. Most local SBA offices offer well-equipped libraries and classes on everything from business planning to marketing. 

http://www.soulofselling.com is Carol Costello’s site.  She has a wonderful book of the same name and is a great speaker. 

Sites that Help You Connect with Kindred Spirits
http://www.helpguide.org Look under Healthy Lifestyles, Meaning and Purpose. This site is loaded with links. In the article, Finding the Right Career there are links to resources such as “coping with job loss.” 

http://www.spiritualityatwork.com grew out of several years of meaningful conversations in an Episcopal parish. Out of this came a magnificent guidebook for conversations about spirit and work. Sample agendas on the site show how quotes and brief readings from many traditions can help deepen conversations with one other person or with a group. 

http://www.transformingpractices.com is a site specifically for lawyers but with inspirational stories for everyone
